Retail is dying.
Why is the question we attempted to answer when interviewing a worker at Frame O Rama. As we entered the building, a chill went down my spine, not because of a ominous feeling but because it was pretty cold in there. A worker behind a desk caught our eye and we approached her. As we inquired her about the state of the store a man, who I presumed to be her superior (not because he was, but due to the fact that he seemed more knowledgeable about the store) appeared and answered the questions in her place. The experience was both educational and depressing. It shined a light on the struggles of a niche shop and the effects large corporations have on a competitive market.
